Compensation Structure
This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement within a distributed international team. Several members of our team are based in Portugal, and we are actively building a strong European team. Contractors manage their own tax and social contributions.
Because contractor roles do not include statutory employer benefits, our compensation bands are structured to remain competitive with total employment compensation in the Portuguese market.
Monthly Salary Range: €2,000 – €2,750
Annual Salary Range: €24,000 – €33,000
This range represents the starting compensation band for the role. As the designer demonstrates technical excellence, reliability, and the ability to contribute to increasingly complex builds and systems, compensation can grow beyond this range. We reward performance and the value team members contribute to client results and the growth of the business.
Additional elements of the compensation include:
• 3 weeks paid vacation annually
• Canadian statutory holidays recognized and paid
• Fully remote work environment
• Occasional international travel for team collaboration and client engagement
• Client-facing exposure and regular collaboration with leadership
• Cross-functional team environment spanning strategy, design, content, and marketing

The role provides exposure to strategy, client leadership, and business thinking, giving designers the opportunity to develop skills that extend well beyond production design.
